The pursuit by several teams of former CFL wide receiver Duron Carter, son of former Vikings great Cris Carter, ended with the Indianapolis Colts signing the young wideout - and on a heck of a deal to boot.
Per Darin Gantt of NBC's Pro Football Talk, "according to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, Carter’s three-year deal with the Colts included no signing bonus, only a $25,000 base salary guarantee this year."
Although the market for Carter was reportedly very crowded, the nature of his contract seems to speak otherwise. Contrast Carter's guarantee with Cam Wake's $500,000 bonus that he got from the Dolphins back in 2009, and it appears Carter wasn't as coveted as initially thought.
However, if he ends up being even a servicable option at wide receiver, his three-year, $1.575 million deal will end up being a major bargain for the Colts.
